No, it is not simple as it seems. The programning of indicators are left to computer nerds who attempt to maximize the speed of computation. there were smoothing techiques used in orginal formulas, calulators and pencil that may or may not be in the computer version. The RSI difference has long been with us. Who is right? I don't know. I bite my lip and learn to live with it. Metastock had a great Variable MA until they reprogramned in 6.0 and came up with trash. But they won't admit it and there may not be anyone there capable of knowing the difference. Decide which best tells the tale of stock action by reviewing a number of examples and stick with that one.
