>>Cap Loss; The name must mean something!?<

Oh, it sure does. My history of building capital loss carryforwards started with my very first stock, General Public Utilities. At the time I acquired it, GPU was the cream of the crop of public utilities with something like a 100 year track record of increasing dividends. Three months after that, Three Mile Island melted down. I think the stock went from 30 to three, where it stayed for years until I finally gave up and sold it. I do not want to see where it is today.

Next came the high flying technology stocks where I had a string of incompetent brokers consistently select the losers.

Then came the biotechs, the companies whose cure for [you name it] was always on the verge of FDA approval.

THen came the brokers whose disclosures to me were always lacking subtle little details, like the recent filing of class action lawsuits against the companies, etc. I feel that brokers are the lowest form of life and have promised myself to never again deal with a broker who tries to do more than accept my orders.

However, all of these pale in significance to the AMZN debacle.

So, while you worry about tax exposure, I measure my investing success by decreases in the time to use of my last CAP LOSS CFWD. With no further accretion, I think it is now 2064. Can you pass on loss carryforwards through your estate, probably not!!
