Client fees/OS X cleared up
MacOSRumors, which initially confused me by suggesting that the OS X Server license might not be for an unlimited number of clients, has now cleared up their mistake: --- Mac OS X Server licensing update [18:03 EST, 3/16]
Apparently, earlier reports of the license included with the $499 ($250 Educational price) version of Mac OS X Server were understated because of unclear wording at the Apple Store.
According to Apple PR, the standard license for Mac OS X Server, priced at $499, allows completely unlimited users for its various bundled services, and up to 50 transactions per minute for WebObjects. The big news: it also includes allowances for installation of the OS on up to five separate machines at no extra cost, with the single license.
Apparently, on top of a significant price drop, Apple is also giving customers who will be adopting Server on a wider scale an even bigger savings. Slick :-)
