I love it! This is great news for everyone. It levels the playing field for high-end hardware and software makers and allows them to be better distinguished from the middle of the road crowd. As a gamer, I've always suffered that there was very limited software to take advantage of my high end graphics. As a result, I learned to buy hardware that was 6 months or more old, so that it'd be more or less in line with the software. If this works out, then it will be one of very few times that Intel, OEMs, graphics vendors, game makers, *and* gamers all win.
I also like that Glide is recognized as a major platform. If Glide was not included there, it would have been a major blow IMO.
