Darlene, for the sake of fairness, let's also report that in the Feb. 10 issue of InfoWorld, Mark Tebbe says in his Enterprise Computing column (page 66) he expects Microsoft to steal Java development out from under Sun.

He says, "Sun created this opportunity. Any Java developer knows quite well the shortcomings of Sun's Abstract Windows Toolkit."

This is getting beyond my technical level, but Tebbe claims developers prefer Microsoft's Application Foundation Class to Sun's AWT.

This may be another example of Microsoft's classic strategy to pre-empt competing, superior technologies.
