IMO, the key point from that article is "Salvador conceded that his company's current products are not on par with processors from cpmpetitors Advanced Micro Device Inc. or Intel Corp."

I haven't see any Winchip systems, so I don't know if I will see any Rise systems. Winchips have a few vendors at pricewatch and Rise isn't even listed. Rise says they expect their chips to go into the low end PCs, but the very low end is already 300MHz. At Pricewatch, the K6 300 is $39 and the MII 300 is $31. If they are just now coming out with the mP6 300, they will very little money for it.

The mP6 II will be better, but as the article says, it may be behind MHZ-wise (assuming they are talking about PR300).

I think Rise is expecting some of their chips to also go into notebook chips. According to their website, it uses less watts than an equivalent MHz K6.
