My Dear Christine, it seems that we have another subject, to explore in which we disagree.

First of all...I totally agree that some of the problems of teenage pregnancy are caused by our welfare state and it's sometimes too generous handouts.
I seriously doubt though that many young people get pregnant, figuring it's a wonderful thing to be on welfare!

I totally disagree that it's because we have had to little and not too much sex education. Your so called experiment has been tried for the last 20 years and everywhere the evidence is clear. The more children are exposed to sex education the more likely they are to experiment and become pregnant.

I don't know what foreign countries you speak of but in Japan they certaintly do not teach sex education and hand out condoms like they do in the United States. Now Germany, yes they do, and there now starting to see the problems that come from it.

If what you say is true than why do we have a larger problem with Teenage pregnancy now than we did say 35 years ago?

Besides what gives you the moral authority to decide what my kid should learn with regards to sex. Have faith in the American parents miss Christine and not your superior NEA!

No Miss Christine the statistical evidence is clear, There are two things which make it unlikely a young girl will not get pregnant.
1. She is involved in Religion or a Church.
2. She has a Father.

That is it Miss Christine, Not handing out condoms, or preaching sex education.

Why don't they worry about if they know how to read instead?
