ms pms witch...re puts being put.... i've been selling puts, bunches at a time,for many years.. been upside down,right side up and even in the middle at any given point in time....never,ever had been assigned unless i decide to go to the expiration point and have it put to me...the option is traded till the last minute....if i'm the buyer of the derivitive why sell the depreciating underlying prior to expiration as my option is increasing to the very last.....the main reason i've bought the put(that thought in itself makes my blood run cold...buying a put for insurance)....hope this helps, ed a.
