Part2

How do things look going forward? We are well positioned. Tight supply will keep prices up. Fiscal 2000 will have supply and demand in balance and enhance GNSS performance.

QUESTIONS:

Byron Berry, Yorktown Securities: rumors about announcement of negative industry outlook. Any truth. ANSW. NO!

Can you detail GMSCA margins: above the FC1.
Market share estimate for GNSS alone: We don't give... we are well over 50%.

John Lau: Soundview Tech. Group: Future trend on LCD sizing... 15" or 17"? 15" is sweet spot and will continue to be. Larger are from others, NEC, but very expensive. Yields are lower on larger size panels.

Lenny Brecken, Fierstein Capital: Market share... what other open design wins are out there which are large enough to make a difference? What about graphics controllers controlling scaling to the panel? ANSW: going after every mfg of LCD to educate them... We'll be announcing new OEM's in next few months. Realistic forcasts.
Regarding PC or Monitor "smarts", we believe it needs to be in the monitor. We don't believe the % of LCD monitors shipped where smarts are in the PC will be significant; well below 10%. If you want a monitor you can plug in and have it work, you want the logic in the monitor. Not in Compaq, NEC, HP, etc... but we don't disclose design wins without permission. Until digital standards firm, we expect a slow migration to digital. Our chips will have what the market needs.

Sam Wilson for Claude Hazen from Unterberg: Pricing firm? ANS: competitive market and we have to work with customers. We have indicated our gross margin will improve slightly.
QUES: Which 2nd tier making most noise? We don't comment about competiters.

Richard Sherman, Penns. Merchant Group: QUES: Short neck CRTs. Are they a threat? ANS: they are a way to make it more appealing, but not a substitute for flat-panel. No impact.

QUES: R&D lower than our models. ANy projects pushed out? ANS: it was in line; no projects pushed out.

QUES: Was 125k moniters from Paradise for Fujitsu? Can't mention other customers. Paradise revenues doubled over previous quarter. Number of customers increased radically. We have 10 or more in production. Fujitsu is much less of a percentage than before.

Brian ALger: preferred Cap. Markets. QUES: re competition. Where do you see it? ANS One area is the XXGA market (Z3 chip and new chip in future). Micronics has reasonable share today. Some ship LCD where smarts are in video card. That's another area we could address.

How about "all in one" market or "bundled market"? "all in one" is where display is built into computer. Bundled is where monitor is shipped with computer. We are mostly in standalone. They are looking at using our chips. We have designs for both of those.

That's all folks... gotta go... call still going on... Perhaps someone else can finish...
