Fred, that does sound like the '96 C-Cube thread. Hey, when you think back on it, some of the bears had C-Cube nailed. Greenberg said that SIGM might unseat C-Cube in the DVD decoder realm before they even had a chip. SIGM has 100% of the upgrade market now. Even MPEG Associates (they probably went defunct after the negative CUBE campaign) said that there would be a "blood bath" in the decoder market, both VCD and DVD. Well, things haven't looked good there either. Ah, I should have heeded those bear warnings...
