The differentiate model indicates the 2.3 m of 9% Ni in hole 4 should be at the base of the gabbbro-norite unit as in hole 1, but instead it 9 m above a granite dyke which is a further 14 m above the contact.

The 9 m interval could be from an earlier pulse that brought in lower grade sulphides before the overlying 2.3 m of higher grade which means the higher grade zone is still at the base of that particular melt, or the 9 m could be part of the same differentiate that was responsible for settling the high grade interval but for some reason did not result in as high a grade.
