A possible untapped PGM resource?

When Noril'sk runs dry, retrace the route of 18th Century Spanish galleons carrying platina from South America to Cadiz -- a possible trail across the deep ocean floor of bags of platinum granules packed in small wooden boxes?
--------------
Platina was transported either in registered private merchant ships or warships of the Spanish Navy, recorded in the register of gold, silver and fruits. It was ordered that, in the event of attack by (usually English) enemies, the boxes of platina were to be thrown overboard along with the official correspondence to avoid seizure.
