I have ordered two books that I will review for those of you here. One book is by Joe Ross called "Trading by the Book". In an earlier post I related how impressed I was with his "Trading by the Minute" book for the day trading of futures. This book on order focuses on position trades that apparently is adaptable to any market and any time frame. We shall see. This should be interesting.

I also ordered the book "Live the Dream by Profitably Day Trading Stock Futures" by Gary Smith. This book covers a person's mechanical system for the day trading of S&P Futures. This system has been evaluated by an outside corporation for Futures magazine for over a 10 year period of time. This system when evaluated with others had the best profitability over that period of time with profits in each year. What is interesting about this book is how the author documents his initial methods to the market, what worked and did not work, and the evolution of his method which ended up as a mechanical system. He also documents specifics about the market itself including details like on how trading of the S&P 500 changes depending on the time of day, and how divergences between the S&P Cash, Futures, and the Dow Jones Average market indicators can help foretell moves in the market. Should be a very interesting read with a multifaceted value.

Does anyone else here want to share with us some specifics and their viewpoint on books that they have found to be very helpful for their trading of stocks?
