Internet Fund - yeah it's quite possible that they've maintained or only partially cut these holdings while all the other assets exploded. It's just that, in the past, they've been holding only 1-3 stocks in the portfolio beyond the top 25 so I guessed it was gone. But I really don't know. And you ask me to check it out? Let me tell ya, I've emailed them or snail mailed them for a total of 4 times asking for a brief Q&A email interview with the portfolio manager and to check out my Internet Fund Website (to offer corrections or to link to it). *ALL* such correspondence was ignored by them. Additionally, there has been a total of nearly 18 unsuccessful attempts of me trying to buy shares - due to them being overwhelmed from DEC-FEB and now THEYVE RUN OUT OF SHARES.
That's right, it's big news on TheStreet.com, Reuters, and the WWWFX thread here on SI that they've CLOSED THE FUND TO FURTHER INVESTMENT because they've RUN OUT OF SHARES! Amazing. Of course, I had a check en route via snail mail (since they will still not accept my telephone purchase) which will be rejected. Oops, I'm off on a tangent here. The point that I'm trying to make is that even the most persistent maniacal shareholder like myself is totally unable to wring out even basic information out of the people who run this fund. So there's really no way of telling how many BFLY shares, if any, this fund owns.
Hope that helps. PS - I'll crostpost this to the WWWFX thread in case the folks over there have an answer. -Netconductor.com
>>Richard wrote: Netconductor, isn't it possible that WWWFX didn't sell any BFLY, and that its holdings (didn't you say it was 30,000 shares?) have fallen below the top 25 in terms of net asset value? At 30,000 shares, the asset value of BFLY shares is only around $300,000, which seems like a pittance for such a large fund. Any way you can check this out for us? |
