Chris, Here a comment from Briefing's tech review for 3/18: ________________ Down one day, up the next, flat the next... So has gone the week for the chip industry as investors sift through conflicting reports... On the one hand, we see evidence of a strengthening Asian economy, strong domestic growth and improved book-to-bill numbers... On the other hand, marketplace is anxious over slowing PC growth, a few of the usual suspects have issued earnings warnings and pricing pressures appear to have resurfaced... Barring a negative earnings surprise out of industry leaders Intel (INTC 120 1/2 +1/8), Texas Instruments (TXN 102 7/8 -1 3/8) and/or Vitesse (VTSS 51 7/16 +1 3/16) group likely to hold its own into earnings season at which time clouds will clear - one way or the other... Briefing.com maintains that more optimistic viewpoint will win out. Vitesse starting to attain 800lb "gorilla-ette" status <G>! Steve
