More 3COM News- Storage Tek, 3COM Ally for Interoperability. From Internetweek Newsletter 18 March 1999 ------------------------------------------ StorageTek, 3Com Ally for Interoperability 3Com and StorageTek this week unveiled an alliance to further interoperability in multivendor Storage Area Networks (SANs). The companies will jointly develop new SAN hardware, software and services. The alliance is designed to allow users to mix software and hardware from both companies to build SANs, as well as develop new products. StorageTek and 3Com said they expect to start announcing products based on the alliance within 30 days. The first round of products will likely be vertical applications, including backup and disaster recovery, said Joan Wrabetz, vice president and general manager of storage area network operations for StorageTek.
