WaveRider Signs VAR Agreement for Mexico; Sakbel Purchases VAR

TORONTO, ONTARIO--WaveRider Communications Inc. (OTC BB: WAVC), a leading global provider of wireless Internet products, have signed a VAR
agreement with Sakbel S.A. de C.V. of Mexico City, Mexico. Sakbel has also a placed an initial order with WaveRide r for five NCL135 wireless IP routers.
Sakbel will be working with WaveRider to obtain regulatory approvals for the NCL135 in Mexico. Prior to obtaining approvals, the initial NCL135's will be
deployed in various pilot networks as Sakbel prepares to market the NCL135 to customers throughout Mexico. They will be using the NCL135 for wireless
Internet access and corporate LAN-to-LAN connectivity applications.

As part of the VAR agreement, Sakbel recently participated in a training seminar held at WaveRider's Toronto facility. The seminar provided background on
wireless systems, equipment and customer requirements and included information on design, installat ion, configuration and support of a NCL135 network. The
training seminar is part of WaveRider's program to build effective distribution channels that offer complete customer support for its products and wireless solutions.
The NCL135 is a high-capacity wireless IP router integrating proven technologies into a single, self-contained enclosure. The NCL135 is WaveRider's first product
and provides wireless high-speed 2.4GHz connections between Local Area Networks (LAN) and t he Internet as well as LAN-to-LAN connectivity.
