If you look closely at most labor strife of late, the core issue isn't salary and benefits, it's control over jobs. The labor movement has been in contraction since the '60s, so any effort by management to expand with increased efficiencies (sp?) without taking the union bug with them is aggressively opposed by the unions. That's the case with AA, it was the case with Giant Food vs. the Teamsters in MD, and will likely continue to be the case unless and until labor's influence stabilizes. Hey Kevin, can you do a little TA on that and tell me if I'm close?
