El: What enthusiasm? I am not enjoying this. I just don't like ditching commonsense and judgement and knowledge out of the window and going into a blue funk everytime some hack makes an announcement. Kumar was miffed that he did not get in before CSFB Now he has to make an exaggerated statements to recover his reputation as the axe of high tech. There is a power struggle to fill the vacuum left by Kurlack - he of infamous dark warnings. Look at Kumar's statement. He attributes 15 cents shortfall to inventory overhang. We know how much inventory there was. This is not a mysterious issue. We know that there was a shortage of inventory in some product lines at the end of the 4th quarter. There's talk that a few days shipments in Decrmber were pushed into Janaury because December had already made its numbers - and then some.
