I want to make a further point, in case you are not too far gone. If Clinton is innocent, or even "guilty, but...", then all sorts of people must be guilty of lying about him, persecuting him, and so forth. Either version involves grotesque accusations against various parties, and no one can hold their minds in perfect equipoise. I choose the version that not only comports the most with my political interests (which, incidentally also means to a large extent my understanding of the world), but involves the fewest assumptions (remember Occam's razor), and slanders the fewest people...
