Sounds promising - let's keep our fingers crossed. If KM helps in the development of large disk drives and if the NC helps reduce the demand for smaller disk drives - then that should speed the demand for KM. I know that's a lot of ifs, but seems possible. I think Ampex has a great future even if KM takes a long time to catch on, even if it never acheives a significant market share. The high desity tape recorders seem to be at the right place, right time, right market and that alone will render a very desirable stock price. The market should start picking smaller caps stocks this year as the PE of blue chips is truly high. Anyway, you've got some good research and speculation - How did you find out about the yield rate at Quantum? If KM disks are difficult to manufacture that could explain some of the delay in accepting KM.
