Probably someone much more versed in the technical aspect could chime in here, but the BB's are envelopes that represent 2 standard deviations away from the moving average (simple, I believe). The piercing occurs with huge gaps up or down, which must get filled. Try this: e-analytics.com They advise using BB with RSI, making quite a powerful indicator of overbought and oversold conditions.... Steve
