victor. Re: Bear Stearns reports. There seems to be some confusion about the reports. Two different reports were posted. The one I posted was dated 3/1/99 and the one Aitch posted was dated 3/16/99. Re: "...which, was of course "full" only in the passages you cited." I posted the entire report. Re: "With respect to the dislocation issue Bear Sterns has still not made its case clearly." I agree but based on on Piper Jaffrey's reduction of earnings this AM there appears to be some confusion out there about sales/inventories, particularly among the small business market. I would be more comfortable knowing that CPQ's new small business effort was successful and it was not losing share to the HP's or IBM's who the channel was shifting business to. HL
