I've ridden VANS twice within the last yr, buying @ $12orb and selling when all the insiders sell-anything above $20. This is easy to see, particularly with regards to the LBO guys who control the firm... Currently I own 2000 at the 14.50 level, having bought when it looked a little weak although technicals were good (right before Dec31). However, lack of attention really dried up this formerly good performer. Part of problem is that Montgomery's coverage is not as aggressive as before--don't ask me why. My biggest pitch is that the stock is trading at same levels (approx.) as before last year, and before its excellent earnings growth last year (i think last quarter was 55%...). My only concern here is that research coverage (including Montgomery and Robertson Stephens) doesn't die out altogether because the stock reacts only $1 or so at most on news or IBD stories...
