It is a know fact that 95% of tech companies can't hold their competitive advantage for more than five years. And even the big ones will eventually lose their edge. Look how IBM (the bluest of blue) dominated the computer space in the 60's, was eventually displaced in the 70's and 80's, and had to rebuild in the 90's. That is the cycle, 1) obtain advantage, 2) lose advantage, 3) regain advantage, or 4) go by the wayside. There are only a few companies (intc, csco, msft) that have held their advantage, but even these companies will someday be tested.
Bottom line, you have to trade tech to make money. |
