Motorola said its entire range of digital mobile phones will be able to browse the
Internet next year.

The Schaumburg, Illinois-based company also introduced a portfolio of digital
communications products, including what it calls the world's smallest and lightest dual
band GSM cellular phone, the first triband phone and a mobile organizer for its Startac
range.

Motorola is trying to catch up with Nokia of Finland, which has surged past its U.S. rival in
digital technology for Internet access and wireless data transmission.

The new products were unveiled at the CeBit technology trade fair in Hanover, Germany.

Mobile Internet access is likely to increase rapidly as computers shrink and phones
perform more computing functions. Nokia and Microsoft predict that more mobile phones
with Internet access will be sold than laptop computers next year.
