B: Biz man crashes through window to death

NEW YORK, March 18 (UPI) _ Police in Manhattan are investigating how
36-year-old software salesman Douglas Buchholz managed to crash through
a plexiglass window and fall 10 stories to his death last night.

Buchholz worked for Sterling Commerce _ the $500 million a year
provider of business-to-business computer software services. The
company counts among its clients at least 10 banks and Internet
retailers like Amazon.com and Onsale.com.

His body was found on a third-floor overhang at 767 Fifth Ave., the
General Motors building, located right next door to the famed FAO
Schwartz toy store.

Witnesses say they heard laughter from behind the closed doors of the
office of Buccholz' manager about an hour before the incident.

Police are not commenting on whether Buccholz' death may have been the
result of some St. Patrick's Day roughhousing.

The building where Buccholz died was on yesterday's parade route. _-
