Tad - Re: " AMD's potential ability to leverage profits as it moves up the value chain with the K-6-III and the K-7."

This thread is "littered with the remains" of those that have invested in "AMD's Potential" over the past 4 or 5 years.

AMD's potential has ALWAYS brought AMD's stock price down to the mid-teens (or lower) as their POTENTIAL for LOSING MONEY has been fully realized.

Re: " I use a long-term earnings growth model as the
basis of my recommendations."

I suggest you get a better model - AMD has no long term earnings - at least not over the past 4 or 5 years. A long term earnings model for them is a piece of pure fiction - at best, speculation.

You seem to ignore AMD's competition and the ability of that competition to out-perfrom, out-manufacture, out-design, out-market and out-maneuver AMD.

Many, many, many posters on this thread have made the same mistake.

For someone such as yourself - who advises OTHERS how to invest THEIR MONEY -I suggest you look at AMD in the full context of their competitive position. Perhaps you will see that AMD is at best a very risky bet.
