Hey Granola (which I suppose is as apropos as Diabolique) I don't want to argue your definition of ethical. We don't live in a perfect world and to survive you can't be so trusting and naive. But the facts are DW did not "flat out lied" and he did not "rule out the possibility of a split".

I have no sympathy for "investors" who "sold out at a loss" because they didn't get a split. If they are "investing" for splits, then they deserve what they get. Real investors in CMGI knows this is a very high beta stock and if they can't stand the volatility then they shouldn't be in this stock. And those "plenty of LONG TERM INVESTORS (that) were shaken out of the stock because of the drop that occurred in the stock last week", well they deserved to be screwed.
