Thread,

Here is my pick of the month. And a suggested format for presentation of stocks for the thread.

Ticker:NS
PSR: 0.13
PB: 0.2
PE: 4.3
DEBT/EQUITY: 0.34
CURRENT RATIO: 1.61
MARGIN: 3%
SALES: $2.8B

CURRENT PRICE: 8 3/8

SUBJECTIVE ANALYSIS:
The numbers alone on National Steel are overwhelming. With the much publicized foreign dumping of steel in the U.S. and 10,000 U.S. workers laid off, the market has overreacted with steel companies, and this one in particular. As inventory of Japanese and Brazilian steel is utilized, prices of steel will rise. The Clinton administration may actually do something to help here with putting pressure on foreign governments to stop the dumping. But even without the government pressure, National Steel has good management, new products, R&D enhancing efficiency and improving products. This stock price is like a coiled spring, although it may take a year.
