Hope your not blaming the messenger. IMO, it's not Daniel per se who's causing the uproar, it's that he could develop a loyal following or proclaim a skill with no credentials.

What if Daniel opened up a store with a sign "Dr. Whiz Kid will perform any kind of surgery you need" ?

How many people would take him up on his offer ?

If SI is any indication, apparently quite a few.
