I am a disappointed potential FNET user and FTEL investor. I just got off the phone with FTEL trying to sign up for FNET. As was earlier reported in this thread, I was told I could give them my name and number, but they weren't taking any new customers now. They said they are ordering more lines and more modems and it would be 1 - 2 weeks before they would call the first group from the waiting list. If you didn't make the cut, it could be additional weeks to wait.

I am having a real problem with this as an investor. FTEL's news release invites new users saying they have lots of capacity. I mentioned this to the person I talked to, and she said they have a lot of new requests. It is hard for me to believe they received so many new users following the press release that they have stopped taking requests. Certainly the stock price does not indicate such a surge of people moving to FNET and I haven't heard of AOL users leaving in mass to FTEL. The words "truth in advertising" and "don't believe everything you read" keep coming into my head regarding all the FTEL news releases.

I hope there is a good explanation for this, because I did believe in the future of this company. Anyone have any comments?

Judith
