(what is it about CA, anyway? don't they even teach basic sex ed?)

Well, you know I have an obscure opinion on this.... having lived in both Austin Texas (one of the cheapest places in the country) and N. Ca (the most expensive). I think it is purely economics. I think in California there are more working women... women are required to work... everything is different because of it. Some people, like me, prefer this environment because I pretty much define myself by my profession. Working women lean towards pro-choice, more as a control thing than anything else. Imagine living in a place where you have a $5K mortgage and your wife gets pregnant... taking time off for this is an economic impossibility. Only those that truly believe life begins at conception are going to be pro-life in this state. Texas is another matter, its a whole different lifestyle.

BTW, I don't know if you remember the case of Hunter Tylo who was an actress that was fired from Melrose Place after she got pregnant. The management told her to get an abortion, and she sued. I'm sure they didn't even think about what they were doing ... everyone is pro-choice out here. She won her case of course but who knows how common this kind of thing is for emerging actors.
