Wiley, regarding the MSFT shorts...

I do not know the total short interest in MSFT as of today, but I guarantee you that it is on the rise. Actually this can be a good bet on MSFT but only in a limited time frame when covering is expected to occur shortly after earnings release.

As far as shorting MSFT around split time, I can only sum it up by telling you the response a buddy of mine gave me this morning when I ran it by him (he runs a Hedge Fund).

As he put it: "Shorting MSFT right now is equivalent to playing Chicken in a car against an opposing driver who's coming straight towards you. Not only does his speed make you nervous, but the fact that about 200 yards from where you will collide, your opponent rolls down his window, throws his steering wheel out and also shows you the duck tape he used to tape his accelerator pedal to the floor -- you realize it's a challenge you just can't win and you immediately start saying your prayers!"

I couldn't have put it any better...
