OK, so I flunked my French course in High School... <VBG>

However, I always get a kick out of imagining myself to be the mountain man who gave the Grand Tetons their name... :0)

As for Clausewitz, I've always thought he left out the crucial ingredient in that quote. "It should read Both War and Diplomacy are a continuation of economics by other means."

Inevitably economics drive world events. If there is no economic gain to a political or military action, generally there is little support for such.
