Jeff,
I am a once in a while lurker on this thread. I have no position in the following stocks mentioned, but those who are curious might want to look at them. Unfortunately, they may be to0 late for the solution to Y2K as far an home electricy is concerned. Plug Power, a private company is in the process on making fuel cells that would supply electricity for a 3000 sq, foot home. The units are estimated to cost in the 7,000 to 10,000 dollar range. I would not even mention this company ,situated in Latham, NY except that GE, Ford, Detroit Edison (DTE), the Dept. of Energy have made sizable investments. Current owners of Plug Power are GE, MKTY and DTE.....one can imagine what interest would be shown if these units were available now. GE and Plug Power see millions of units sold starting in 2001....again I am not advocating purchase..always do your own due dilligence before buying any stock..
