I'm not criticizing every small detail. I've pointed out a glaring conflict of interest. The sites claim to be independant of ESVS and ZULU, yet Internic records indicate that they are owned by the companies.
I think it's quite proper to point-out the conflict. Perhaps this will be worked-out before April 1, and perhaps it will be so because I have pointed out the conflict. Perhaps it was already in the works. We'll have to see, won't we?
However well-intentioned, though, these sites are not off to a good start. If they're run by the company, there are some serious conflicts of interest. If they are not, then I hope that the ownership issues can be resolved, because the way they are registered right now, the company can hold the sword of domain ownership over the content (through ultimate control of the domain), whether Mr. LaBarge likes or believes that or not. It would have been best to have fully resolved this prior to putting up even this preliminary material.
BTW, Mr. LaBarge offered to show me receipts and cancelled checks as evidence of his ownership of the domains. Unfortunately, that is not the criteria that Internic uses to determine ownership and control of domains. They are going to need a notorized signature from ZULU and ESVS officials to change the registration.
If that has been arranged-for and will be forthcoming, perhaps Mr. LaBarge should state that publically.
He sounded sincere in his PM, but I trust nobody in regard to these companies. The only thing I can trust is the public record, which currently states that these sites are owned by the Zulumedia and Enhanced Services. |
