I think that you should have raised the matter with your personal banker a long time ago.

The fact that he reneged on a deal to reimburse you part of your funds is pretty low and shows his lack of professionalism. IMO, he shouldn't be in the business and I don't know what kind of credentials he may have or the institution he works for requires of their brokerage employees, but it seems somewhat lax compared to the standards in most reputable Canadian houses that I've dealt with. Banking and investment is a trust-building profession between clients and their financial advisors and screw-ups are just simply not tolerated when larger sums of money are involved. In the bank I work for I can tell you straight out that if we had brokers demonstrating the same incompetence, they'd be out the door so fast your head would spin. Mistakes can be made in this business, but two or three or four etc. are ridiculous and when errors are made, it is incumbent upon the institution to remedy the situation appropriately.

I hope you have better success with your online account, although if it is through the same institution your problems may be no different. Onlines can be pretty tricky too and if the full-service aspect sucks, then the discount side may be no better.

If I were you I'd give the guy a piece of your mind Susie! LOL The goof probably takes advantage of your mannerisms and character thinking you'll just sit back passively. Maybe I should come down there and kick his A$$! LOL!
