You see it first here...Looking at a 8 short term trading threads/methods/TA threads this evening, I noticed we had YUM,SONE,SDLI,FIBR,BKS,EGGS,EPAY,WEBT,DCLK,VRIO,NSOL,ZQK,SLR,GNET,JEF,KSWS,FMY,ABOV,NITE, as buys and mentioned BEFORE any thread. I went back about 40 days. CMGI was pretty much the same for a few threads and so was CNET. Except for SONE,SDLI,YUM,KSWS,and SLR, the others were not earnings plays but rather momentum plays (i.e. garden variety watch list fare).
In just the last week alone FIBR, EGGS, BKS,VRIO,WEBT,PRGS were popular enough to have 'hot' spots on SI and be touted by websites like wallstreetcity and Market Watch after appearing on our watch list or threaders bringing them up on the thread.
I am referring to stocks that had staying power over short time rather than daytrader dynamos that were up 30% one day and down 40% the next. It's actually neat 'watching' everyone getting on the bandwagon after we had posted it 1-2 days previously. So I think we should really be thinking about holding our plays as long as we can and just set stops to keep from substantial losses.
The only plays we were not FIRST in were VIGN,VERT,UBID, and HLTH and some quickie plays that were 'short lived' wonders Most others were jumping on them AFTER they had gapped up. Small Fry has an uncanny way of uncovering the most elusive of them as well adding to the track record of the thread and I don't mean just for subscribers. Altough it's true subscribers got in first on many plays most of the plays were multiple day gainers and eventually everyone could get in at some level and do well. |
