*Handset Sales Slipping* Oh! Oh! Looks as though the handset division is in trouble. They were supposed to do 10 million at 1 am on 12 March and they missed it by 5 days!

Perhaps my predictions are just getting sloppy.

Also, Telecom New Zealand was quoted in The New Zealand Herald as saying the report that they would be going to cdmaOne is premature and they are merely considering their options at this time. Sure! They are up against it with Vodafone cleaning them out. They'll be changing sooner rather than later.

Meanwhile, Maoris are trying to nab spectrum rights, cancel the auction, cancel management rights and they are being taken seriously. Apartheid Rulz OK! It suppose we'll soon be getting human rights pressure from the USA. Heck, even China doesn't have apartheid. Deferring the auction will cost the country a fortune in opportunity cost. We'll have to go on suffering expensive phone service for another year or two while squabbles over who owns what and whether women, Maoris, crippled or otherwise disadvantaged and inadequate people need special favours from taxpayers. Well, the claim is that they are disadvantaged, and some indeed are. Unfortunately, they are not the same ones as get the money from the taxpayer.

Not to worry, we can stick with $100 by 31 March and by 1 January 2000 there should be 51,415,927 cdmaOne subscribers.
