Targets imply that you can control how the market is going to behave. One cannot predict where a stock is exactly going to go to in the short term. You can tell the direction with some degree of certainty by the trend and volume changes. Volume drops means a price drop and visca versa. So I think one has to be constantly monitoring the volume and movement.

If the stock looks to be bottomed out (i.e. stuck at certain price) and volume is increasing, then I cover. If the stock has peaked, volume is dropping and a downtrend is established, then I short. Hit and run, seat of the pants trading.
