It's happening to everyone. What's happening is some posts are being deleted, and the remaining posts in the thread are being resequenced at SI. Then, when you reload the thread's index, your browser is seeing those files already being in your disk cache, and is thus coloring the links as having been recently accessed, or read.

However, that does not explain why the posts are being deleted.
