Just trying to be nimble. Even a secular bull market (which I believe the US market will be until at least 2006 barring some exogenous event) has lots of 20-30% dips along the way. If you're following a stock and something jumps out at you as transparent (i.e., short-term buyback pop and then dip), you should take advantage. I like HRBC's potential at $6.5/share, but there's nothing wrong with adding a little extra cash on the way up.

Buybacks in a depressed stock sometimes make me suspect that a large shareholder wanted to lighten their load so company management accommodated them.
