I don't what your talking about almost every backup software in existance has selective backup and restore features. If you trying to say that the backups are stored as individual files rather than an archive then that is one way to do it. Its the wrong way but some do it. It lacks error compression, correction and higher throughput associated with other formats...

Backing up to floppies is right next to not backing up at all. I would never ever, ever recommend backing up to floppies. to slow, tedious and prone to errors.. Highly recommend some other form of backup...
