Hello Terence. I hope I'm mot crashing the party, but I am mystified. I'm having especial trouble with your assertation that good and evil are objective and absolute (my paraphrase). Any thought or thing which is against human life is evil. I reject the idea that we can get the Hivemind to agree to closed definitions of "against", "human", "life", let alone "evil". Absent defined premises, any further discussion is demoted to the plane of consensual reality and thus becomes profoundly subjective. The only way out is to preset some premises: short-circuit the inquiry process by positing articles of faith. Since your articles of faith are different from mine or any one of our threadmates, the best I see us doing is to negotiate mutually acceptable terms, and the terms of those terms, in an infinite regression. But then maybe I'm missing something really basic. Regards, Alex M
