Certainly the internet/Java/XML wave has been a godsend
for oodb firms. I've been specifically partial to ODIS
since they've been so quick to capitalize on it with
new product. Now lets see if this translates to revenue...

I've been negotiating for some new business here in London
and ran across Poet in a competitive offering. More and
more I see these object dbs popping up in the internet
arena, in various guises and various form factors.
This is, I believe, a good sign for the market
overall and ODIS in particular.

But this technology also pops up in odd places.
Last week I gave a talk at Cambridge and saw some interesting
econometric modeling work. Once again, an object database
was involved.

Anecdotal points, of course. Nonetheless, slowly the
wave is building. I continue to believe XML will be
the breakout point.
