Ron--If you want to argue, argue with the poster to csy2k or the author of the CNN article.

My post directed to Ken was to call his attention to the new supply curbs and the potential drop in inventories held by the industrialized countries which over all can be measured in 7 or less days. If you understood the seven days or less to apply to the US in particular, as your comment--Hardly a mere 7 days worth of "just in time" production as your comments seem to imply--after quoting data on US oil stocks and reserve figures, you understood wrong.

Ken was not speaking of the US only in his comment re: oil/gas as "underpinning the maintenance of modern civilization" nor was I in my post/response to him. My mention of the US strategic reserve was to remove it from the discussion so as not to confuse the issue. Apparently that did not work for you.

As of late some of the discussions have become more focused on the global situation due to interdependencies. You may want to take note.
