I know what you mean. I was in the process of defending Chris Matthews, and grasped for an example of a character who felt that the actions of another reflected on his honor, and therefore felt as if he had to stand against him. The Andy Garcia character in "The Untouchables" came to mind, the Italian cop who joins the squad. Despite protestations, Schuh decided that I had called Clinton a gangster, like Capone. Foolishly, I then explained what I thought those who had mentioned the Capone analogy had in mind: a guy who has done a lot of bad stuff, but whom you can only get on comparatively trivial things because of the efficiency with which he covers up. This really sent him around the bend, and he has tended to repeat this bit about me and the Clinton/Capone analogy ad nauseam... by the way, I am working on something, and periodically checking the thread. I hope it is not too disconcerting.
