john....re: dell...short term/long term... i prefer to step back and look at the big chart....amazing how the 90 day lines smooth out to a nice unbroken upward trend.... for the new investors in dell...if you loved it enough to buy it at 100+ pre split, and the fundamentals haven't changed...it's a bargain under 45 post split....unless of course you bought it on a momentum move...just like the aol train everyone is scurrying to get on...nothing wrong with aol...but give me a break, compare dell/aol fundamentals...where is the cash, where are the earnings...if you want to "own" a piece of the business real world...which would you buy...remember the purpose of buying stock is to "own" a piece of the business...not trying to chase down the street a piece of paper blowing in the wind....don't worry, be happy....buy when all others are selling...good luck, ed a.
