I don't think Cisco needs Cascade now. They will develop the switching they need with Stratacom. They have the installed base and I think they can transition customers over and replace the routers with Stratacom equipment. This tag switching Cisco has, supposedly, lets you make there routers more efficient.
Anyway, we had a strong finish today on Cascade. It was sprinting to the wire, though it closed down for the day. It really came back from the low. Look for strength tomorrow at the open.
I think Cisco still owns 6% of Cascade, but I think IBM, who has a partnership with Cascade, maybe more interested in eventually acquiring them.
